Sunshine State TESOL JournalGUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
1. Read carefully the Guidelines for Submission which follow. 2. Review the submission guidelines found at TESOL Quarterly Manuscript Guidelines, including links that Journal provides for quantitative and qualitative research the type of research that you have conducted and written about in your manuscript. The readership of Sunshine State TESOL Journal is similar to that of TESOL Quarterly, so you will obtain valuable tips on how to prepare a manuscript for the Sunshine State TESOL Journal. 3. Complete the Manuscript Checklist. COPY and PASTE the checklist to the end of your manuscript BEFORE submission. By appending the Manuscript Submission checklist to your manuscript, you are certifying: 3a you
have read the TESOL Quarterly Manuscript
Guidelines for tips on preparing a manuscript for teachers and
educators in the field of TESOL;
3b
your manuscript contains new ideas (and
NOT just a restatement of what others have said in the past), the topic is of interest to
teachers and educators
in the field of TESOL and is clearly written in
a manner that readers who are not specialists in the field
can understand;
3c your manuscript has not been
published elsewhere wholly or in part;
3d your manuscript is not, nor
will be,
under consideration by another
publication from the point of manuscript submission through the review
process;
3e your
manuscript
for an article is between 2000 and 4000 words in
length and does not exceed 4000 words and for a book
review is between 1000-1500 words and does not exceed 1500
words;
3f your
manuscript has multiple section headings for easy reading and
navigation on a
computer screen;
3g all
sources
of information within the manuscript have been cited
appropriately and that the reference section has only references cited
within the text;
3h your
manuscript has been checked for spelling (either American or British
spelling is permitted), for grammar,
and for format
for in-text citations and references following the American
Psychological
Association style guidelines, 5th
edition, and that the Editor reserves the right to reject outright any
manuscripts that are poorly written and/or not checked for spelling.
3i the
manuscript can be submitted in any of the following three file formats
for the review process:
3i2) in .rtf file format using
Rich Text Format, or
3i3) in .doc file
format using Microsoft Word (and NOT as a
web page in Microsoft Word),
3j. manuscript revisions
must be sent electronically to the Editor by the time and date
requested by the Editor or the manuscript may not be published in the
issue it was assigned.
3k all
authors
whose names are associated with the manuscript have
consented to submit it to the Journal.
4. Send manuscript, letter of intent, and 50-word biography as an email attachment to the Editor at sstesoljournal@gmail.com under the following conditions: 4a The subject header must have the word SUBMISSION, then the last name of the author (or first author if there are more than one) and the first 5 words of the title of the manuscript as in the following example: SUBMISSION

DO NOT send manuscripts or questions
about the status of the manuscript review to the university address of
the Editor. They will be deleted automatically.

6. Keep in mind that while your manuscript is under review, you cannot submit your manuscript to other publications. Please remember - the time of the reviewers is valuable and it wastes their time reviewing manuscripts that are going to be published elsewhere.The typical time for a decision to be made on a manuscript is 3 months from the point of submission of the manuscript. The manuscript author will receive an email receipt from the author to acknowledge receipt of the manuscript. 7. If at any time you wish to withdraw your manuscript from consideration for publication in the Journal, immediately contact the Editor with the word WITHDRAW in the subject header of the email as in the following example: WITHDRAW Ramirez New Directions in TESOL Methods 8. The reviewers are not bound to provide comments to the authors on the manuscripts that have been rejected 9. The decision of the Editor is final on matters pertaining to publication.
