MANUSCRIPT CHECKLIST
 


a. I/We have read the TESOL Quarterly Manuscript Guidelines for tips on preparing a manuscript for teachers and educators in the field of TESOL.

b. I/We certify that the manuscript contains new ideas (and NOT just a restatement of what others have said in the past), the topic is of interest to teachers and educators in the field of TESOL and is clearly written in a manner that readers who are not specialists in the field can understand;

c. I/We certify that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere wholly or in part.
YES or NO

d. I/We certify that the manuscript is not, nor will be, under consideration by another publication from the point of manuscript submission through the review process.

e. I/We understand that the manuscript for an article is between 2000 and 4000 words in length (any exceeding 4000 words will be rejected  immediately - book reviews should not be between 1000-1500 words and not exceed 1500 words).

f. I/We understand that the manuscript has multiple section headings for easy reading and navigation on a computer screen.

g. I/We certify that all sources of information within the manuscript have been cited appropriately and that the reference section has only references cited within the text.

h. I/We certify that the manuscript has been checked for spelling (either American or British spelling is permitted), for grammar, and for format for in-text citations and references following the American Psychological Association style guidelines, 5th edition, and that the Editor reserves the right to reject outright any manuscripts that are poorly written and/or not checked for spelling.

i. I/We understand that the manuscript can be submitted in any of the following three file formats for the review process:

1) in .html file format using Composer in SeaMonkey (the program is free to download and use),

2) in .rtf file format using Rich Text Format, or

3) in .doc file format using Microsoft Word (and NOT as a web page in Microsoft Word),
but that the final format for publication is html using Composer in SeaMonkey.

j. I/We understand that manuscript revisions must be sent electronically to the Editor by the time and date requested by the Editor or the manuscript may not be published in the issue it was assigned.
